Listening with the whole body. Cultivating a felt sense of the aliveness of the space around and within you. This is the deep practice of Qi Gong.
Qi Gong is a regenerative practice, of cultivating the felt sense of Life within - of coming to new senses and of orienting with a more than 3,000 year old practice to remember who we truly are. First we have to move stagnation, to get the waters of our body and mind flowing. So we shake and tap and visualize all the layers of our body.
Where the mind goes, the Qi goes. Where the Qi goes, the blood follows.
Then we follow a prescription of ancient movements and breathing techniques designed to attune us to the Cosmos and to the Earth, the space all around us and within us. In this way, we tap into Source energy. In this way, we awaken our bodies' self healing capacities.
When we practice with a teacher, we’re often more able to more easily access this awareness. When we practice together, we’re able to amplify this awareness and come into even deeper dialogue with the Qi, with this sensing of the aliveness of the space we inhabit.
How attuned are you to the space around you? How anchored are you in this present moment to the Earth beneath your feet, the cosmos above your head, to the breath of life around you? There is always something new to feel, something new to see. It begins perhaps with a longing to belong, a longing to find oneself in the greater picture and be in touch with the miracle of Life.
When we practice Qi Gong, we can gain entry into an entirely new dimension. When I align myself and practice with commitment and intention, I arrive in a place where there is no thought of me, me shifts into something much larger than myself. I forget about time and feel the flow. I can sense the lineage through the transmission. I can sense the subtle energies in the collective body of the people I'm practicing with. I am listening with my whole body, discovering again and again an infinite state of enough-ness. A state of eternal consciousness, a wordless land, a seamless unity.
We are in the Universe, The Universe is in Us, We are One with the Universe.
When there is this state of completeness, when one is fully present, there is nothing to be done. This moment contains all the past moments and all the ones that will ever be. All trying resolves into complete ease. We are tapping into aliveness itself.
